What this page covers
This website, returndue.com, as it works today. The ReturnDue app has not been released. Before it is, this page will be replaced by a policy that covers the app: what stays on your iPhone, what ReturnDue’s services handle, and the choices you have.
What this website collects
The site has no accounts and no checkout, so it doesn’t ask for your name or any payment details. The one thing it asks for is an email address, and only if you choose to join the launch list.
Today it sets no cookies. It uses no analytics or advertising tools, and your browser loads nothing from other companies’ servers. Its fonts and images come from this site. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we’ll update this page before they go on.
The launch list
When the sign-up form on this site is open, you can leave your email address to be told when ReturnDue is on the App Store. We use the address for that announcement and, from time to time, for other news about ReturnDue.
After you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm your address. If you don’t confirm, you won’t receive anything further.
The list is kept for us by Kit (kit.com), an email service. With your address, Kit stores when you signed up and whether you confirmed, which form on the site you used, the page you were on, any campaign tags on the link that brought you, and which version of the sign-up wording you saw. Your browser doesn’t contact Kit. The form sends your address to this site’s own server, which passes it to Kit.
To stop repeated or automated sign-ups, that server keeps short-lived counters tied to a scrambled, one-way form of your IP address and of the email address. It doesn’t keep the IP address or the email address themselves for this, and the counters are deleted within two days.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to support@returndue.com to be taken off the list or to have your address deleted. We keep the list for as long as we use it.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify’s servers receive the technical details your browser sends when it asks for a page, such as your IP address, the page, the time and your browser type. Netlify keeps logs of those requests under its own privacy policy. We don’t use them to identify visitors.
Campaign links
If you arrive through a link that carries campaign tags (the parts of a web address that begin with “utm_”), the page keeps those tags in your browser’s storage for that tab, so that if you join the launch list we can tell which link brought you. They are sent to us only with a sign-up, and they are cleared when you close the tab.
If you email us
If you write to support@returndue.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and we use it to answer you. Our mailbox is provided by Google. Please don’t send card numbers or other sensitive details. You can ask us at any time to delete your message.
Who handles information for us
Netlify hosts the site and runs the server that receives a sign-up. Kit keeps the launch list and sends its emails. Google provides our mailbox. Each handles information only to provide that service to us.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell personal information. Today we share it only with the service providers named on this page, or when the law requires it. If that changes, we’ll update this page first.
Children
This website isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this page
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. The policy that covers the app will be published here before the app is available.
